Week Seven Reflections

Greetings friends!

How is everyone this week? Getting your good food and good moves under control? Well, I am proud to say I ROCKED at things last week.

Nutrition:

I made all my food on Sunday and ate according to the menu all week. No eating out, no skipping meals. I felt great and was so proud when I turned in my food log. It was of course SUPER FOODS week and we were given a list of 13 foods (and substitutes) where we earned a prize for using a variety of 10 in the week and were encouraged to use at least 3 per day.

What were the super foods? Well, things like turkey breast (or chicken), beans, soy, spinach, tomatoes, yogurt, bananas, blueberries and fish or nuts. I of course would not touch the fish (other than tuna) and nuts were off limits too. I found the best way to get three in was to combine things. For example a turkey wrap with tomato and spinach or hummus (yogurt + chickpeas) or overnight oats, which had yogurt, oats, blueberries and chia! Score!

I also hit the peanut butter wall. I tend to do this w/ PB…I’m either all in or all out. I ate it just about every day for 4-5 weeks and now I can’t look at the stuff.

What was the prize for using our foods? A two-day pass to the gym we’ve been attending. And you know what really burns my buns? She gave them to everyone! EVERY SINGLE PERSON. I worked really hard on my super foods and I believe those who did the project should have been acknowledged. Yes, I’m secretly 5 years old.

Fitness:

I don’t have the video for the weekly workout. (Oh no, tragedy!) so there will be TWO videos next week (Oh, good, crisis averted) Instead I would love to share my videos I submitted to Under Armour’s, What’s Beautiful? contest. First up is a progress feature. 7 weeks later I hit a terrific milestone…50 pushups. I more than doubled my ability from day1!

The other video I am sharing is my jump rope video. For this I needed to create a jumping streak. I did not do very well. However, I learned I need a longer rope and that I really like this as a quick and easy workout! Oh and let’s just talk about the elephant in the room. I need a more supportive sports bra to be jumping rope.

    from the elephant in the room comment to the reminder to me to get my jump rope out of the car trunk and USE IT.
