No, I’m not channeling my inner Xtina circa 2002. I am very excited for a very modern opportunity I have been presented with courtesy of FitFluential!
When I first heard about the Dirty Girl Mud Run, I’ll be honest, I thought, “Great, another event cashing in on the adventure race boom”. Then I took the time to read more about it and realized how amazingly awesome this event has made itself! Now, you know you can trust me because I am normally anti-female power. So when I am on board with a girls event, you know they’re bringing it!
A little background. The Dirty Mud Run debuted in Wisconsin to a sold out crowd of over 6,000 women…in 2011. Meaning last year there was a 3 market tour, this year they have increased it to 15 markets, with more dates and cities being planned each day. Who wouldn’t want a chance to crawl through PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff), tackle the “Utopian Tubes” or find out what “Slippery When Wet” means? I will have the chance to find out all of those things and more when I join my FitFluential girls on May 12, 2012 in Indianapolis, IN at the Live Nation Klipsch Music Center!
As with many events, a portion of the money will go to a worthy cause. For Dirty Girl registrants, part of their fee (at least 2.5%) is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Last year more than $50,000 was presented to help the fight against breast cancer. With 250 cancer survivors receiving complimentary registration and special recognition. *Note…since all opinions are still my own. Personally I would like to see the money go elsewhere. Breast cancer research IS important, but it’s also widely known and widely donated to in many forms. Off the top of my head, a cause close to my heart is ovarian/cervical cancers. Ladies our ta-tas are nice, but let’s not forget about the southern hemisphere!
