I decided to do this challenge, because it doesn’t involve miles or running. I’ve been invited to countless things for January, none of which I can safely take part in. With the 100 days challenge though, it is simply 30 minutes of intentional movement. As it says on the page, it can be 3 sets of 10 minutes, 2 sets of 15, 1 set of 30 or go above and beyond.
Yesterday I walked with my dog for 2 miles, which took us about 41 minutes. We could have gone longer, but it started to sleet and she’s so tiny I worry about her paws.
I also have this brilliant plan of doing sit-ups and curls or squats every day. However, given I did not do it yesterday we all know how seriously I’m taking that goal. As seriously as I’ve taken it every year and every month I’ve ever dreamt it up.
So, do you want to take part in it too? You don’t get anything other than the satisfaction of a job well done. Isn’t that enough?
There is an official webpage, where you can download and print a chart to track your progress.
And of course there is the Facebook page for the 100 days challenge where you can brag about what you did, meet other people doing the challenge, and get ideas on what else you can be doing to get your body moving.
Not sure if you have missed the memo…but it’s 2012…let’s make it count.
